There are 5 in total, including:
- 3 regarding potential airbag safety issues

Let’s now take a look at each of the issued recalls for the 2017 Audi A4, as well as the consequences of ignoring them and how to fix the problem.
Airbag Mounting Screw May Not Be Sufficiently Tightened
NHTSA Recall ID: 18V836000
Airbags should deploy flawlessly during a collision; however, a loose mounting screw within the airbag mechanism of the 2018 Audi A5 Sportback and 2017–2018 Audi A4 All-Road models may cause faulty deployment.
Ignoring this recall can cause the airbags to fail in the event of a crash, increasing the likelihood of injury or death.
During this repair, a mechanic will inspect and tighten or replace the screw if necessary.
Frontal Airbags May Not Properly Deploy
NHTSA Recall ID: 16V955000
Several 2017 models were included in this recall, including the Audi A7, A4, and A6, and the VW Golf and Tiguan. It involved the frontal, side, and head airbags not deploying properly due to seat belt pretensioners failing to activate.
Ignoring this recall can cause the airbags to fail during a crash, increasing the likelihood of driver and passenger injury or death.
During this repair, your dealer or mechanic will inspect and replace the seat belt pre-tensioner to remedy the problem.
Side Marker Lights May Not Work in Conjunction With Parking Lights
NHTSA Recall ID: 16V642000
Side marker lights work to alert other drivers that you’re about to turn, but new software may cause this mechanism to fail in the 2016 Audi vehicles:
- TT Roadster
- A3 Cabriolet
- A3 Sedan
- A3 E-Tron
- TT Coupe
- A4 Sedan
- Q7
- Q3
Failure to fix the problem can result in an accident, as the mechanism will not work to alert other drivers to your turn.
During this repair, your dealer will upload new software to your car that will remedy the problem.
Passenger Airbag May Disable
NHTSA Recall ID: 19V547000
In some Audi vehicles, the oxidation sensor on the passenger occupant detection system may cause a software malfunction that results in the disabling of the passenger airbag.
Affected models include:
- 2018–2019 Audi RS5 Sportback
- 2018 S5 Cabriolet, Sportback, and Coupe
- 2018 S4 Sedan
- 2018 A5 Cabriolet, Sportback, Coupe
- 2017–2018 A4 Sedan and All-Road
Ignoring this recall can result in passenger injury or death in the event of a crash.
During this repair, your mechanic or dealer will install cable ties that will remedy the problem.
Speaker Trim Edges on Doors May Expose Sharp Edges
NHTSA Recall ID: 17V675000
On some 2017–2018 Audi A4 Sedans/All-Road and 2018 A5 Sportback models, the speaker trim on the front and rear doors have sharp edges and may come loose, causing passenger injury.
Failure to adhere to this recall can result in driver or passenger injury while opening and closing vehicle doors.
During this repair, the sharp aluminum trim will be replaced.
